Venture across the pond to experience true champagne powder, spectacularly unique views, and exceptional hospitality. Colorado is famous for its remarkable ski resorts and that is just why it should be at the top of your list.

Aspen Snowmass

Offering striking views of the impressive Rocky Mountains, Aspen is one of the most talked about American ski resorts. Popular with the rich and famous, Aspen is a vibrant ski town with a huge network of ski slopes. The town itself is one of the prettiest and most elegant ski towns you will find in North America.  Aspen has a vibrant and busy nightlife, with many of the hotels, bars, and restaurants within walking distance from each other. Experience true luxury with heated public pavements!

Aspenites welcome boarders with open arms (previously snowboarding was banned until 2001!).  The resort offers a ride-guide leaflet of the four mountains in the ski region. The ski resort boasts the longest terrain in North America, spanning two miles. If you’re a keen freestyle boarder you have a great opportunity to tackle the three half-pipes, five snowparks, and plenty of features scattered over the area.

Breckenridge

Breckenridge is a high-altitude resort and one of the best places to snowboard in Colorado in our opinion! More suited to advanced skiers, Breckenridge is a dream for those hunting powder bowls and challenging black runs. The Back Bowls off Peak 8 and Peak 9’s north faces are the sweet spot for powder hounds. Explore the exhilarating natural and man-made freestyle features. Challenge yourself to the half-pipes, boxes, rails, and jumps to get the blood flowing. If you’re just starting out as a snowboarder there are plenty of beginner slopes to get your teeth into. Not to mention the epic powder the ski region is accustomed to!

Vail

Vail is one of America’s best-loved ski resorts. It is located two and a half hours from Dever airport and has the largest single ski mountain in North America. It neighbours Beaver Creek and shares the same lift pass. The total ski area amounts to 234km and reaches a mammoth 3,525m ski altitude. Uniquely it has a special snowboard trail map, pointing to the best runs for snowboarders. There are very few ski resorts in the world to have this and perfect for those who want to avoid flat paths. Vail is home to the Fun Park, boasting 12 trails and three half-pipes. The Tag Huer is one of the largest half-pipes in the United States. If snowparks aren’t your thing then there are plenty of other challenging areas of the mountain. Head over to the back of the mountain to the Back Bowls and experience remarkable off-piste slopes.

Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek is a relatively more quiet and more exclusive ski resort in comparison to its neighbour, Vail. There is plenty of choice for snowboarders in terms of terrain. The slopes are kept in pristine condition and there are plenty of steep runs for snowboarders. It is a playground for free riders.  The runs are wide and super easy to navigate for first-time visitors. The hardest problem is where to explore first! For those boarders who want to show off their freestyle skills, there are three snowparks to practice your flair. Beaver Creek has it all, tough moguls, cruisy greens, and steep glades.
