Les Crosets Ski Resort

Champoussin and Les Crosets are two neighbouring resorts in the Val d’Illiez region of the Portes du Soleil ski area. The two ski resorts are seen to be a ‘back door’ to one of the biggest winter playgrounds in the world, over 650km of ski terrain.

Les Crosets sits at the higher altitude of the two ski resorts, at 1670m, and reaches a total altitude of 2,277m. While Champoussin sits slightly lower at 1,037m and reaches 2,146m. At the most northern ascent in Les Crosets, skiers can drop into the popular ski resort of Avoriaz, in France.

Les Crosets and Champoussin are a great starting point for discovering the Franco-Swiss ski region, enjoy a typically Swiss hot chocolate in the morning and head over to France for lunch for a croque monsieur or perhaps a warming French onion soup. For those ski addicts, there is the ‘Swiss loop’, which entails a day of hard skiing across the entirety of the Portes du Soleil, an achievement for all.

Les Crosets is home to the infamous ‘Swiss Wall’, which is a measurement of skiing ability with 37 degrees of inclination and 1.3km of ski slope, it is not for the faint-hearted.

Skiing in Les Crosets

Les Crosets is a quieter ski resort and a great learning base for beginners, with the option to venture out into the wider Portes du Soleil ski region.

There are a number of drag lifts in the Champoussin ski area. Once skiers have mastered the drag lift there are some fantastic blue and red runs to keep busy. Wide cruisy blue runs can be reached by the Grand Paradis 2 chairlift in Les Crosets.

Snowboarding in Les Crosets

Les Crosets is highly regarded among snowboarders for its steep descents, fantastic off-piste, and popular snow park. As the ski resort is more favoured by families and beginners it means the snow park is relatively quiet during the season! Progress your freestyle skills on the quieter side of the PDS.

In terms of off-piste, many descend to the terrain under the Mossette-Suisse chairlift for the naturally made kickers and excellent snow.

Les Crosets is a small family-orientated ski resort with limited après ski options. We recommend starting early in the larger neighbouring ski resorts and skiing back before the lifts close!
