Lake Louise is one of Canada’s largest ski resorts, set amid the breath-taking scenery of Banff National Park. The ski resort is near to the charming mountain town of Banff. First made popular by the opening of the Canadian Pacific line in the 1880s. Today, the town is peppered with hotels, bars and restaurants, giving the skier just as much to see and do after the sun has dipped below the snowy peaks. We’ve put together some of our favourite Banff après ski and nightlife spots to head to once the lifts shut.

The Banff Ave. Brewing Company

Start the night at Banff’s first brew pub, famous for its premium in-house craft beers. Only the best quality hops and malts with the company’s own cultured yeast strains are used, but there is also a fourth special ingredient: pure, mineral-laden glacial water from the Canadian Rockies. For a bit of a change, this Banff après ski spot also features an extensive wine list and a good choice of cocktails.

Magpie & Stump brings a little slice of Mexico to chilly Canadian evenings. This is the perfect place to relax after a long day skiing, with its eccentric décor and friendly atmosphere. You’ll find a tempting array of authentic delicacies on offer. From quesadillas and burritos to tacos and chilli rellenos. For après ski drinks, there is a wide choice of beer, wines and also cocktails, that will see you through to closing time. The Bulldog – a margarita with an upside-down Corona in it – is particularly popular among regulars.
