March Ski Holiday FAQs

March is a great month for skiing, with its longer days, sunshine and generally reliable snowfall (backed up by snow-making systems). If you want reliable snow with milder weather, then skiing in March is for you.

For the best snow security in March, high-altitude resorts such as Val Thorens, Tignes and Cervinia are your safest bets. On top of these, amazing skiing and atmosphere can also be found at the likes of St Anton and Verbier.

Before the Easter holidays and after the February half term, March is a great time to go skiing if you’re after quieter slopes and generally less busy resorts.

March is a great time for après as with the sun coming out more and more at this time of the season, the festivities tend to make their way outside onto sunny terraces with live DJ sets and music.

March is usually a cheaper time to go skiing, compared with more peak times like Christmas, New Year’s and February half term. Prices do rise over Easter, but early March offers amazing value.

Alongside the obvious skiing, at many resorts you’ll be able to find spring festivals, live music and outdoor après parties. On top of those, the usual snowshoeing, spa days, dog sledding and more are always available.
