Valmorel Ski Resort
Valmorel ski resort is a French village located at 1,400m with excellent skiing. The ski resort is composed of a number of small satellite villages, each of which includes mostly chalet-style buildings with self-catering accommodation. Valmorel ski resort has gained the reputation of being an excellent family ski resort for a number of reasons. First, the centre of the village is car-free. Second, most of the pistes cater to beginners and intermediates. Third, there are areas specially designed for people of all ages to learn.
It’s part of the Grand Domaine skiing area which offers 165km of pistes. Enough to keep most beginner and intermediate skiers entertained for a whole week. A lot of the accommodation is slopeside, so you can have a ski-in-ski-out experience too.
Valmorel ski resort has a traditional alpine charm to it. For a small ski resort, it has a good number of bars and restaurants to choose from. The nightlife is very relaxed, and the locals are very welcoming. The village is also car-free, which is perfect for getting around the town safely with children.
You can fly to Chambery to get to Valmorel ski resort. It’s only an easy one-hour transfer to the ski resort from the airport.
