Soldeu ski resort lies in a serene, tree-lined valley which runs from France to Andorra and then on to Spain; and provides access to the extensive Grandvalira ski area. This skiing area is shared with several neighbouring ski resorts including Pas de la Casa, El Tarter and Canillo.

Soldeu ski resort sits in the heart of the wonderful Grandvalira ski area; the snow capital of the Pyrenees, comprised of 123 picturesque runs across 210km and served by over 60 lifts. A Grandvalira ski pass will cover the resorts of Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo and Encamp; all of which are linked by gondolas meaning there is no need to rent a car or use busses. Soldeu also offers the possibility to ski back down into resort which is appealing for families looking to reconvene at the end of the day.

Soldeu ski resort is the ideal destination for intermediate skiers looking to develop their skills and progress to more challenging terrain, or a beginner looking to learn the basics on fun, safe and wide open runs. There are a number of green runs which provide plenty of terrain for first-time skiers to try out. Advanced skiers will enjoy the resort’s world-class black runs which are all expertly maintained, as well as a variety of off-piste opportunities.

Boarders will enjoy the miles of freeride runs on offer in Soldeu, which are very slow to become tracked out due to the resort’s high number of pistes suited to beginners and intermediates. A notable route to discover runs down from the summit area of Pic D’enc Ampadana through a picturesque tree-lined area. Grandvalira is the only ski area in the Pyrenees to offer four snowparks and a freestyle academy. The main park is located in El Tarter and offers a halfpipe, rails and boxes.

Across the Grandvalira ski area there are approximately 450 instructors who offer lessons in all of the native languages of Andorra – French, Spanish and Catalan, as well as English. Group or private lessons are available for skiers and boarders of all abilities, with tailored classes available for junior skiers, experts seeking off-piste guiding and alternative winter sport activities such as telemark skiing and ski mountaineering.

In Soldeu ski resort there is a choice of four non-ski nurseries which will provide childcare for young children. In addition to this, there are six snow gardens which offer care and entertainment on the beginner slopes, meaning kids can enjoy their first steps on the snow within a safe environment. Down in the town you will find the locals dining at the bordas farmhouse restaurants such as Fat Albert’s which is set up the hillside. Xalet Sol i Neu serves Asian cuisine whilst The Villager offers up classic British dishes.

Soldeu town has an easy-going, family-friendly atmosphere, with a nice selection of bars to enjoy the late afternoon sunshine in. In the town, you will find most of the nightlife on the main road in the centre of the village. From the mountain, head straight to the Villager which is in the same building as the gondola, and offers up a family-friendly atmosphere and plenty of screens showing sporting events. Later in the evening, head to the Harp for live music and special events seven nights a week.

It is possible to purchase a pedestrian lift pass, which will enable non-skiers to meet the rest of the group at the wide selection of mountain restaurants. The Funicamp cable car is a good option for pedestrians to head to thanks to its phenomenal views and selection of restaurants and facilities. For some rest and relaxation, head to the Caldea Spa, just above the main gondola station. This facility is Europe’s largest mountain spa, offering everything from thermal springs to wellness treatments.
