Breckenridge has some great easy terrain below the tree-line to explore on your ski holiday to the USA. The resort in Colorado has 18km of green runs and 32km of blue slopes. It has a great snow record and the pistes are prepared for perfection. An ideal place to progress on the easier slopes. You can try the Upper Lehman blue run which can be accessed from the Mercury Superchair. This is ideal if you want to do some turns in peace because it’s usually away from the crowds.

Take the heated gondola to the Hartkaiser peak, where you ski a lovely blue run curving back down to the main village. This resort is ideal for families and first-time skiers.

This ski resort has something for everyone so it offers an ideal for families and mixed ability groups. Levasset blue is a 5.2km blue run that is wide open and flat. A great part of the piste map, to take your time down the mountain and admire the views.

The Austrian ski resort has a wide variety of terrain, perfect for mixed ability groups. If you want a long cruise, take the blue 200 heading from Lech to Oberlech through to the main village. It’s a gentle slope with stunning views as you head down.

Spread across the piste map, Les Deux Alpes has a variety of green and blue runs around the mountain. It is one of the ski resorts with the most green runs because of the 46km of green slopes to explore. On top of this, there is 118km of blue runs to ski too, fantastic for beginner and early intermediate skiers. We recommend taking the Bellecombes 1 green piste to the Bellecombes chairlift, where you can admire spectacular views of Mont Blanc at the top of the lift.

Plenty of choice to progress from the nursery slopes. A good confidence-building run you can try is the Gall de Bosc blue piste in the treeline. It’s flat and heads through the trees from Espiolets to Soldeu and El Tarter.

You can explore 53km of green pistes and 147km of blue runs within the Espace Killy ski area. Linking to neighbouring ski resort Tignes there’s a wide variety of slopes.
