Staying in Tignes or Val d’Isère this season? You’re in for a treat. Not only will you be greeted with incredible skiing opportunities and pristine slopes – equally importantly, these destinations feature après ski like no other. Here are five must-visit bars from the Tignes & Val d’Isère après ski scene, from places to enjoy incredible post-ski cuisine to bars where the tables are made for dancing on.
The Loop Bar
“We take hunger pretty seriously”, says The Loop Bar. More accurately, this establishment takes everything après-ski seriously, with fantastic DJ sets, all-day snacks and drinks deals, as well as a full breakfast and lunch menu. The Loop Bar has ski-in, ski-out access at the bottom of the Trolles slope, plus a huge south-facing sun terrace that’s ideal for soaking up the rays after a long day on the snow. Once night rolls in, simply get up on the tables and start dancing. This venue features on the Bar Tignes App, so you can check up on DJ line-ups and happy hour deals before you turn up.
If your skiing party includes some foodies, this is Tignes après ski venue is for you. Couloir is renowned for its fine dining and cosy, relaxed restaurant atmosphere. We’re all ravenous after a day speeding down the slopes, so a three-course meal might be just what you’re craving. It’s a venue of two halves, so it works for ski parties of all tastes and ages: the lively bar downstairs conceals the entrance to a rustic, hidden-gem restaurant upstairs. There are happy hours and live music aplenty too. Because it’s also on the Bar Tignes App, you’ll know exactly when to drop by for two-for-one Prosecco.
La Folie Douce
Start of season, end of season…all season, the parties at La Folie Douce are something else. A popular bar for young skiers, La Folie is known for its bouncing club atmosphere, indoors and out, with an epic international line-up. You won’t go short of food either, thanks to a modern restaurant serving regional delicacies and a canteen-style eatery for an easy bite. There’s an outdoor BBQ-style kiosk for grilled snacks while you party. La Folie prides itself on being an après-ski adventure for those who love to burn the candle at both ends.
This is a well-loved nightclub with international DJs, a host of live music and some of the best après-ski around. The order of the day here is dancing on the tables, and the atmosphere is always buzzing. It’s right at the foot of Solaise and the Face de Bellevarde, so you can jump straight in and enjoy the open-air setting with unreal views. There’s no need to fear going hungry after partying either: snacks and sandwiches will keep you going.
Dicks Tea Bar
Dicks Tea Bar has been a Val d’Isère après ski institution since 1979. Having played host to many 80s celebrities back in the day, today the After Dinner Club has a multitude of amazing live performers. Enjoy in house-musicians and DJs all waiting to entertain you. It’s open seven days a week during the ski season. Start the evening with cocktails, wine and high-end drinks served at your table. The venue then turns into a nightclub till the wee hours.
