With direct access to the vast Dolomiti Superski area, skiers are spoilt for choice in the stunning resort of Selva Gardena.
The resort itself is quite sprawling, however Selva boasts a wide range of accommodation, good après ski and great restaurants both on and off the mountain. One of the most sizeable resorts in the Sellaronda region, Selva is one of the main bases to consider when visiting the area. Its massive vertical drops and excellent nursery slopes make it an excellent option for all abilities.

Selva is the highest of three resorts in the Val Gardena area. With easy access to the Sellaronda Circut and Dolomiti Superski area, combined with its dramatic Dolomiti backdrop, it is no wonder the resort is so popular. Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy 175km of runs at an elevation of up to 2,518m.
Selva is almost joined to neighbouring Santa Cristina, together making up the largest resort on the Sellaronda circuit with 175km of runs. It is a big domain with a highly efficient lift system, 120km of snowmaking coverage, great scenery and generally good value. Once on the slopes, intermediates will be in their element. Experts might be best heading to Arabba for a challenge, but beginners will find plenty to enjoy.
Boarders who enjoy freeriding will find a good range of off-piste areas to challenge themselves, the area also has well-groomed slopes for carvers. Freestylers can enjoy the Alpe di Siusi Snow Park that has over 70 obstacles. There are also wide, gentle areas for beginners to master boarding.
With many ski schools and instructors to choose between, there really is something for everybody.
We’ve partnered with SkiBro, New Generation and Oxygène and highly recommend their services. All of our partners offer fantastic lessons for all ability levels.

Selva Gardena Ski & Snowboard School offer a Kinderland for children aged 2 to 5 years. The instructors combine ski lessons with fun games in a mountain envrionment, helping your youngest to fall in love with ski holidays.
Restaurants in Selva service a mix of Austrian and Italian dishes. Both Rino and Bellavista are good for families, serving traditional Italian dishes including good pizza. Restaurant Scoiattolo serves delicious traditional local dishes in a cosy atmosphere.
The nightlife in Selva is a little more subdued than many Italian resorts. However, it's by no means lacking a buzz, with many of the restaurants in the village continuing into the evening with live music and fairly priced drinks.
Non-skiers can enjoy the beautiful, dramatic scenery from the top of the mountain as most gondolas can be accessed by pedestrians. This also means it's easy for the non-skiers of the group to join the skiers for lunch on the mountain. Other winter activities including ice skating and snowshoeing are available.
