The ski area appeals to intermediates with its gradual terrain. It’s also a good training spot for those learning to ski off-piste. The ski area has gentle bowls that are ideal to progress from.

Ski Areas in Les Carroz

Les Carroz ski resort is part of the extensive Grand Massif ski area, connected with other ski resorts such as Flaine, Morillon and Samoëns. With 265km of marked ski runs, many of which are through trees, you won’t find yourself skiing the same slopes continuously. There is a fairly good mix of runs for all levels of skiers, but the area leans more towards intermediate skiers.

Skiing in Les Carroz

Les Carroz ski resort has lots of long winding blues and steeper reds, perfect for intermediate skiers looking to improve. Beginners have a few greens to practice on until they feel they are comfortable enough for the blues around the base of the resort. More advanced skiers will want to head over to Flaine to take on some of the challenging blacks and off-piste territory in this area. Freeriders will enjoy the powder bowl at Corbalanche.

Snowboarding in Les Carroz

Beginners will enjoy building up their technique on the multitude of green runs, before progressing to the long, wide blues and steeper reds. Advanced snowboarders may want to head over to Flaine to get to more of the challenging pistes and better freeride bowls and runs. Park boarders will be happy to know that there is a good terrain park here with plenty of rails, boxes and big kickers.

Les Carroz ski resort offers the Souris Verte Nursery for younger children aged between six months and three years old, whilst the Loupiots Club is available for older children aged 3 to 12 years. ESF and ESI ski schools offer introductory lessons for young children.

Les Carroz ski resort offers some very well-received restaurants. In the resort, we recommend visiting La Croix de Savoie for a fine dining experience. Or for a more moderately priced meal try Le Refuge which has wonderful tapas and raclette dishes. For lunch on the mountain, we recommend L’Anfionne, a perfect place to stop for a re-energizing hearty lunch and a hot or cold beverage.

Après Ski in Les Carroz

Les Carroz ski resort is best suited to families and groups who are looking for a relaxed après ski scene. The ski resort’s most popular bars include Le Baratin, which is perfect for chilling out with friends and family over a glass of wine in a relaxed and cosy setting. The only late-night bar in Les Carroz is Club 74. You can let your hair down here and party on the dance floor until the early hours.

Non-Skiers

Non-skiers will enjoy Les Carroz ski resort as a destination with plenty of activities, including an indoor swimming pool with a newly refurbished spa. Alternative winter sports activities on offer include a number of tranquil snow-shoeing tracks, plus the opportunity to take a snowy ride by horse and carriage. If you’re looking for something a bit more adrenaline-fuelled then try fat biking, ice driving or ice climbing.
