Ski Areas in Flaine

Flaine sits in a big bowl that forms part of the Grand Massif area which includes the other resorts of Les Carroz, Samoëns and Morillon. The Grand Massif offers 265km of skiable terrain and with a good mixed bag of long, wide slopes that lean more towards intermediate skiers. That said, beginners will have plenty of blues to keep them entertained and advanced skiers and boarders can venture off the beaten track to find some great freeride terrain.

Flaine and the Grand Massif are filled with long, wide slopes that are perfect for beginner skiers getting their ski legs or advanced skiers looking to carve their way down the mountain at top speed. With excellently maintained pistes, you won’t have to worry about mogul fields building up. Freeride skiers will be kept busy with fantastic features such as Combe de Gers, an amazing steep back-bowl (it is worth getting a guide to explore), and Les Carroz which is filled with brilliant tree runs and excellent intermediate skiing.

If you’re a snowboarder that loves carving long, fast runs then Flaine is a great place for you, offering plenty of cruisey blues and steeper reds. Freestylers have the Jampark in Aujon, or the more advanced park option over in Les Carroz. Freeriders will enjoy the steep powder bowls within Flaine and the hidden tree runs down to Les Carroz.

Flaine is rather quiet on the après and nightlife front – mostly being geared toward families, however, there are still some fun places to go dancing. Le Perdrix Noire opens in the early afternoon and is a great place to grab a drink after a hard day skiing. Le White Pub has a happy hour, live sport and pool tables which makes it a great chill-out spot. The favoured late-night spot is Les Caves, a nightclub that keeps its doors open into the early hours.
