Chalet Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is considered one of the smartest renovations in Val d’Isere. From Tatler to the Telegraph and the Sunday Times, the media have been unanimous in their praise for Chalet Farmhouse.
Certainly the architect was spoilt with the canvas on which he had to work: a two hundred year old farmhouse with metre thick walls next to the church in the centre of Val d’Isere. The renovation has been equipped to a very high specification and includes wide-screen DVD television with digital surround sound and small but important touches such as heated ski boots in the morning.

Val d'Isère

Val d'Isère is probably the resort that has access to the best all-round ski area in the world, the Espace Killy With just over 100 lifts compared to the 300 to be found in the Trois Vallées, the Espace Killy is obviously not the largest ski area in the world, but size isn’t everything and this region has as much skiing as one could ever need, not to mention the longest winter in the Alps. (The winter ski season here begins in late November and continues until early May and the early- and late-season conditions are seldom disappointing.

The main centre of Val d'Isere has been virtually rebuilt over the past 25 years and many of the buildings are imaginative contemporary interpretations of the traditional stone and wood Savoyard style.

Val d'Isere ski holidays were revolutionised with the introduction of apres-ski in the 80s when Dick Yates-Smith set up the seminal bar-nightclub, known as Dicks Tea-Bar.
