Serre Chevalier is one of a select few ski resorts to hold the Green Globe certification – a standard recognised as the highest in the world for sustainability, through a structured assessment of sustainable operation and management enterprises. The resort achieved this status through being the first to produce its own electricity that combines three types of renewable power – hydro, photovoltaics and micro-wind turbines. The resort also uses a local company called Sunwind, who provide unique flexible solar panels that are installed directly onto existing infrastructures and lift stations.
