Kicking Horse

Kicking Horse ski resort has some of the greatest powder and superb skiing on offer. This village is very much alive and kicking from its nest amongst the sweeping, tree-lined mountains, above the town of Golden. Two magnificent peaks loom above, both sewn with a tapestry of rippling blues, several long winding greens and some tasty blacks.

Kicking Horse ski resort is a great mountain village. Luxury ski accommodation now lines the ski resort and more bars and restaurants are popping up each year, including the popular Eagle’s Eye mountain restaurant at 2,345m.

There is 100km of pistes and five lifts. The skiing terrain is challenging with 60km of black runs on the mountain. Kicking Horse ski resort is suited to advanced skiers or snowboarders. There’s also awesome off-piste skiing opportunities on a powder day. Kicking Horse is a regular stop on the Freeride World Tour.

The village itself is a pretty quiet mountain town. People visit the resort for the unique terrain rather than the après ski. However, there is still a good selection of bars to enjoy a relaxed drink. There are beautiful mountain views to admire from the village and the slopes.

You can get to Kicking Horse ski resort by flying to Calgary Airport. It has a transfer time of two hours and a half. Other Canadian ski resorts such as Banff, Revelstoke or Sun Peaks are a drive away.
