Built from scratch in the 60s, Flaine became a world famous ski resort that caters well for families. The Grand Massif ski area links Flaine with the lower, traditional villages of Hameau de Flaine and Montsoleil. A car gives you the option of visiting the Portes du Soleil, Megeve, Chamonix or even Courmayeur.
Even though it's a tiny resort forum is centred on a snow-covered square with buildings on three sides. Flaine Foret is up the hillside, linked by lift with its own bars and shops. This might be one of the best ski resorts for families as there are children all over the place which are catered for with play areas.
The slopes are mainly open but the lowest ones are wooded. The Grand Massif is an impressive area that you won't want to miss if you love skiing as much as we do.
Flaine's family orientation is underlined by the domination of apartments and has woodland slopes for bad-weather days, providing an idyllic Flaine ski holiday.
