Hotel Perren

Our most popular three-star, the Hotel Perren in Zermatt, first opened its doors in 1939. This hotel gives guests direct access to Gornergrat and Sunnegga-Rothorn, located only 200 yards from the hotel. Over the years, various members of the Perren family have run the hotel and added to the original building. In 2000, a complete renovation programme saw the hotel completely transformed. It now offers some very comfortable accommodation and a friendly welcome from Patrick Perren and his extended family.

All bedrooms at the Hotel Perren are decorated in an alpine style and complete with a TV, safe mountain views and a private en-suite. Facilities within the hotel include an entire spa area with a sauna, steam and the option to book massages.

There is a large lounge area with a fireplace and piano - or you can have a game of snooker in one of the smaller sitting areas. A stylish bar and A La Carte restaurant are complete with funky cow-hide stools. When you book with Ski Solutions, the Hotel Perren may be taken on a half board or, more popular, a bed & breakfast basis leaving you free to enjoy the many restaurants Zermatt offers.

Resort details

Zermatt ski resort is commonly regarded as one of the best ski towns in the world, offering fabulous skiing, stupendous scenery and an extensive variety of high-quality restaurants and hotels. There has been a settlement here since the Middle Ages, with the first tourists flocking to the area in 1838. The town retains its traditional charm to this day with it being car-free, which creates a wonderfully relaxed and peaceful atmosphere and allows visitors to enjoy the clear mountain air. Free electric buses connect all the main lift stations on the valley floor and there are plenty of milk float-style electric taxis for hire. Wander off the main Bahnhofstrasse and you will quickly be walking beside ancient wooden “mazot” huts filled with farm animals and hay.

The magnificent Matterhorn is sufficient reason in itself to visit Zermatt ski resort. This distinctive pyramidal peak has become Switzerland's trademark around the globe. Wherever you are skiing the slopes or in the village, you cannot resist regular glances to see how its appearance is changing according to the light and the cloud conditions. At an altitude of 3,883m, the Matterhorn Ski Paradise is Switzerland's highest ski area; guaranteeing fabulous skiing conditions all season long which truly live up to the magic of the town.
