Backstage Vernissage Hotel
The Backstage Vernissage Hotel is a new addition to Zermatt’s hotel selection, and offers a unique hotel experience in one of the world's most iconic ski resorts. Centrally located, it's for those looking for something a bit different! In an ideal location in the village, the Backstage Vernissage is just a few minutes’ walk from the Gornergrat railway.
A quirky and unique design, with strong links to the Zermatt Unplugged music festival. The theme is 'backstage' and 'behind the scenes', the idea being that it's the place to relax during the intermission before going back on stage.
The upper floors of the Vernissage building house the hotel and incorporates a bar, lounge-restaurant, dinner cinema, club nights, concerts and art exhibitions. The hotel benefits from views looking out over Zermatt car free village and toward the Matterhorn.
19 open-plan rooms are all unique and quirky with a 'backstage theatre' theme, and range from standard rooms to Cube Lofts. Artwork adorns the walls and the rooms are finished in stainless steel, glass, walnut and fine velvet. Each has a fireplace, there is plenty of atmospheric lighting and the beds take centre stage.

Double Deluxe
The Double Deluxe room is 30m2 with an open plan design by artist Heinz Julen that features the double bed in the centre of the room with a control panel for atmospheric lighting alongside a free-standing bathtub with spectacular views of the mountains.
The room is equipped with a sofa, work desk, minibar, wifi, shower, hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers, cable TV with DVD player, CD player and iPod dock and safe. The room also has a fireplace and a private balcony.
Double Standard
The Double Standard room is 20m2 with an open plan design by artist Heinz Julen that features the double bed in the centre of the room with a control panel for atmospheric lighting.
