Hotel Bella Tola

The building dates from the 19th century. Behind this splendid façade you are invited to journey to another age. Its colours, forms, shapes and even its fragrances make the spirit of old times rise: in this place you can feel - literally - the breath of tradition.

Charm and authenticity in the first hotel of the Val d’Anniviers. The hotel Bella Tola offers you different categories of historical bedrooms.

When evening comes, friends can meet and enjoy a delicious feast. Dinner is served in the old ‘period’ dining-room with a legendary past. Beneath the crystal pendants of the great baroque chandelier, tables are reflected in the rows of Versailles mirrors… Buffets await ‘gourmands’ for the waltz of hors d’œuvres and, as the finishing touch, the farandole of desserts.

Then, in the Vallet Room, the private collection of etchings by Swiss artist Vallet take us back to scenes of farming life in our region.
On the ceiling, a stunning period fresco on the theme of the Four Seasons makes a visit to this room a must.

Salon-Musée : permanent exhibition of the painter d’Edouard Vallet (1876-1929) Private collection of « Eaux-fortes ».

At the top of the main wooden staircase, our first impression is the soft light flooding the Ravel Room with its the great white 19th-century faience stove.

The Library has set its scene near the old maple tree with a wide choice of old books picked up here and there… When they have a spare moment, guests can come and borrow an art book or browse through a book on alpine flowers as they admire the mountainous surroundings.

Val d’Anniviers

The Val d'Anniviers is a stunning Swiss valley surrounded by peaks over 4,000m high, which is home to a chain of authentic mountain villages. All of these offer sublime panoramic views and a unique atmosphere and architecture. Chandolin has the largest ski area and widest choice of slopes, whilst Vercorin is an oasis of peace and quiet adapted to provide the most relaxed of ski holidays. Zinal is situated below a glacier and is the last village in the valley, offering the best choice of activities.

For decades the valley has been something of an Alpine secret, however with the opening of Switzerland’s third longest cable car, linking the resorts of Grimentz and Zinal, Val d’Anniviers is gaining well-deserved attention in the skiing community. There are still a limited number of skiers here which is a massive part of its appeal, as you can enjoy a truly authentic and somewhat nostalgic skiing experience. Most of the villages have also retained their unspoilt rustic charm, overall making for a refreshing change from other high-speed, ultra-modern resorts.
