Although Klosters has acquired international renown on account of the regular presence each winter of members of the British Royal Family; it remains at heart a quiet, charming farming village with sophisticated international appeal. Visitors can expect to experience a unique combination of a renowned mountain resort and the idyll of an unspoiled Graubünden village. A year-round population of just 3,000 people who are mainly farmers during the summer months, makes for a traditional town full of authentic Alpine charm.

Ski Areas in Klosters
Klosters shares 251km of great skiing with neighbouring resort Davos - an area which is fully accessible on one ski pass. The Gotschnabahn cable car ferries skiers and boarders up into this skiing paradise, which is surrounded by dramatic panoramic views of the Bocktenhorn, Weisshorn, Scalettahorn and more. Madrisa is Klosters' own smaller, sunny ski area, which is typically popular with beginners for its relaxed atmosphere and gentle runs.

Skiing in Klosters
Klosters has skiing to suit all abilities and can be explored using the Rega CHECK ski pass which covers all the areas in the Davos-Klosters region; amounting in total to 58 lifts and almost 251km of pistes. From the Gotschnagrat summit at 2,285m you can ski back down to Klosters itself on red or black runs, whilst the more advanced skier will enjoy the exciting off-piste routes back. Some of the most scenic skiing is to be found on the Klosters side and can be accessed via the modern Schiferbahn gondola.
Snowboarding in Klosters
The Davos-Klosters region is a snowboarding Mecca, offering a host of fun parks, freestyle parks, two half-pipes and more. The area of Jakobshorn, in particular, is regarded as an ideal destination for boarders thanks to its 'JatzPark' featuring a variety of kickers and rails. For beginner boarders, there is plenty of gentle terrain to practice wide open turns and enjoy cruising whilst taking in the stunning surrounding scenery.

Crèches in Klosters
Madrisa Kids Club provides childcare for non-skiers aged two and above, whilst the Snow Garden based in the Sports Centre at Klosters Platz has a magic carpet and pony lift to help children aged four years and above get to grips with the basics on their skis. Saas Ski & Snowboard School accepts skiers from three years old and Swiss Ski & Snowboard School Klosters takes them from three-and-a-half.

Restaurants in Klosters
Klosters' most famous mountain restaurants are in Schwendi, where you will find a collection of rustic wooden huts. The Conterser Schwendi has a barbecue on its terrace during sunny afternoons later on in the season. Down in resort, you will find Michelin-starred fayre at the Walserhof hotel, whilst the Chesa Grischuna offers a wonderfully atmospheric dining experience. If you are after traditional Swiss cuisine, head to the Wynegg which is renowned for the quality of its Fondue Chinoise.
Après Ski in Klosters
Après-ski starts on the mountain as skiers and boarders relax at the Schwendi huts in the late afternoon sunshine. As the day turns to evening, the Piano Bar of the Chesa Grischuna starts to fill up with those looking for a relaxed atmosphere whilst the bustling bar in the Brasserie of the Hotel Vereina is popular for its cheaper drinks. After dinner, the Casa Antica is the main nightclub, offering a disco and bar on the ground floor, a live pianist and cocktails on the first floor and a members only area on the second floor.
Non-Skiers
Klosters offers 50km of walking trails through the forests and mountains, where it is possible to spot animals such as chamois. There are also various 5km toboggan trails, a complex of natural ice rinks, snow rides on the mountain railways and five indoor swimming pools which offer a range of spa, sauna and massage treatments. Those looking for something more relaxed can wander around the charming village exploring the boutiques and enjoying a coffee from one of the rustic wooden restaurants.
