Still largely undiscovered by the rest of Europe, Champoluc ski resort is one of the last hidden gems in the Italian Dolomites. Apart from the first week in January, when half of Turin descends on Champoluc, this ski resort remains largely uncrowded. It's part of the Monterosa ski area, in the Aosta Valley, with a combined total of nearly 200km of runs and some superb skiing.
Champoluc ski resort is a very Italian venue, with good food and après-ski, which revolves primarily around restaurants and bars. It's generally pretty quiet, with beautiful scenery and largely intermediate skiing. There's some decent off-piste skiing for more advanced skiers too.
