Megeve ski resort is one of the most stylish in the Alps. Go skiing in Megeve for a fantastic choice of luxurious hotels, situated close to the slopes.
Megève is one of the most stylish ski resorts in the Alps, with a very pretty ski area. Just over an hour’s drive from Geneva airport, Megève village is both sophisticated and chic; with smart boutiques, alluring bars and restaurants in an abundance. There is also a good choice of well-appointed hotels, some of which are close to the slopes. Many of the winter visitors coming here have no intention of skiing – they simply flock to the picturesque town for a relaxing week.

Megève has three ski areas of its own with a resort height of 1,100m ranging up to 2,350m. The wider region boasts an impressive 445km of skiable pistes in total. This vast amount of terrain means there's a variety of slopes including cruisy blues and reds and lots of tree-lined, lower slopes with excellent chalet-style mountain restaurants alongside. The main area also has modern, fast chairlifts so you won’t spend too much time stuck in queues.
Megève doesn’t have the most challenging terrain in the Alps, however, this is more than made up for by Megève's impressively scenic skiing, with lots of tree runs which are perfectly tailored to intermediate skiers. Beginners will want to hang around the base of the resort where there are some nice flat nursery areas. The area is also generally much more traffic-free than its neighbour Chamonix.
Intermediate snowboarders will enjoy the multitude of tree-lined pistes and flat beginner areas at the base of the resort. There are some great powder sections around Mont Joux and Joly and, if you take the time to get there, Rochebrune; which can be enjoyed by more advanced freeride boarders. There is also a terrain park which is expanding every season.
With many ski schools and instructors to choose between, there really is something for everybody.

The ESF Club Piou Piou la Caboche will support younger children until they are of the age to ski in the ESF children's groups. Megève also has great options for parents wanting to hire a nanny for their children and there are plenty of companies that provide this within the resort.
Megève has some of the very best restaurants in the Alps. If you’re looking for a crème de la crème dining experience then head to the Michelin-starred restaurant Flocons de Sel for delicious cuisine which is both artful and creative. For a more moderately priced meal, we recommend OK Burger, who provide absolutely brilliant gourmet burgers with extra helpings of cheese. On the mountain, Le Refuge offers brilliant hearty Savoyard and local dishes; well worth a visit for a long lunch.
Après ski in Megève is a largely refined affair with more quaint cafes and trendy cocktail bars than nightclubs and cheap ski pubs. With the introduction of a La Folie Douce onto the slopes in Saint Gervais, there is now a good on-the-table dancing hub for skiers to check out.
For late-night haunts try the Cocoon club; a great place to party away the night until 5am when the doors close.
Megève is one of the best resorts in the Alps for non-skiers. There is a huge choice of designer shops, including Hermès, Yves Saint Laurent, Poivre Blanc and Blanc Bleu. There are plenty of attractive walking paths through the forest for those who enjoy scenic walks. The many luxury hotels have lavish spa facilities designed for pampering their non-skiing guests during the daytime.
