The open-plan lounge/dining area is spacious with plenty of comfortable seating around the wood burning stove. It also has the more modern luxuries of satellite TV and a DVD player. A lovely balcony runs the length of the chalet. All rooms have en-suite facilities and rooms 6 and 8 have an extra single bed with half-price places for children. Les Deux Alpes, often simply written as Les 2 Alpes, is a large buzzing village offering some fantastic cruisy glacier skiing. The ski area rises up to an impressive 3,600m, and is largely on Les Deux Alpes’ glacier, the second largest glacier in France behind Chamonix, allowing virtually year-round skiing. There is also a big, lively and relatively young après ski scene, much of it centred on Venosc, at the southern end of the town.
There is 229km of pistes to explore in Les Deux Alpes. There is something for all levels in this ski resort. If you’re a freestyle skier or snowboarder there is a terrain park with kickers and a half-pipe to test your best tricks on. The off-piste skiing opportunities are fantastic too. The La Fée sector and the Chalance off-piste routes are the main places to find great powder skiing on a snow day.
The village stretches for almost 2km along a sunny valley. There is plenty of accommodation options for different price ranges. On top of this, there is a great choice of bars, restaurants and clubs. Les Deux Alpes is one of the liveliest ski resorts in the Alps.
There are plenty of airport options to travel to the ski resort. Grenoble has an hour and a half transfer time, which is ideal if you want to maximise your time on the slopes. Alternatively, you can fly to Chambery with a slightly longer transfer time of two hours and thirty minutes.
