Skiing in Kaprun

Kaprun has glacial skiing, making the conditions here favourable for much of the season. With access to the more extensive resort of Zell am See, there is plenty of skiing to enjoy. For intermediates, there is a dedicated area of cruising runs and for the more experienced, the off-piste can be challenging. The quieter nature of the resort, however, makes it a great place for the less confident to really find their ski-feet.

Snowboarding in Kaprun

For snowboarders looking for the best terrain, the Kitzsteinhorn is the place to be. Reaching off-piste powder packs from the Kitzsteinhorn is easy as can be and provides some great riding opportunities. Sustainable Choice

Kaprun uses 100% green hydro energy in a bid to reduce its overall consumption. Huge solar panels have been installed on the roof of the Alpincenter to store the heat from the sun on the glacier and use it to supply hot water to the local restaurants. Energy is also recycled from the heat that is generated from the motors which run the lifts, and this is reused to heat buildings within the Alpincenter, as well as the lift building at the base of the Panoramabahn. This has led to the lift company being awarded as the first in Austria to sign up to multiple environmental standards – 13001 and ISO 50001.
