Le Refuge de Solaise

Le Refuge de Solaise is one of the most exciting additions to Val d’Isere. The brand-new hotel will be part opening this winter 18/19, with exclusive access to the penthouse. The rest of this hotel will be opening in winter 19/20. The penthouse is situated at the very top of the new building, offering fantastic views of mountain peaks around. The hotel will become the highest in the French Alps, sitting at an amazing 2,551m, 80m higher than the rest of the village. The penthouse of this new build is positioned in a fantastically sunny spot, benefitting from five-hours extra sun than any other property in the resort.

The penthouse boasts a large dining and living area with 360-degree views of the French Alps, with eight bedrooms, sleeping up to 24 guests. Of an evening, guests can relax around the fireplace that sits central in the penthouse, as well as make use of the great living space to enjoy socializing with loved ones. The penthouse is in a ski-in ski-out location, with access solely by cable car.

Each day, breakfast will be provided, as well as daily cleaning. There is an exterior Jacuzzi for guests to use, as well as a sauna. Guests can use these facilities to unwind after a day on the slopes. On request with supplement, dinner can be provided for guests, either through the menu in the penthouse, or à la carte in the restaurant.

Exclusive access to the penthouse of Le Refuge de Solaise this winter is not to be missed before the full opening of the hotel next winter 19/20.

Val d'Isère

Val d'Isère is probably the resort that has access to the best all-round ski area in the world, the Espace Killy With just over 100 lifts compared to the 300 to be found in the Trois Vallées, the Espace Killy is obviously not the largest ski area in the world, but size isn’t everything and this region has as much skiing as one could ever need, not to mention the longest winter in the Alps. (The winter ski season here begins in late November and continues until early May and the early- and late-season conditions are seldom disappointing.

The main centre of Val d'Isere has been virtually rebuilt over the past 25 years and many of the buildings are imaginative contemporary interpretations of the traditional stone and wood Savoyard style.

Val d'Isere ski holidays were revolutionised with the introduction of apres-ski in the 80s when Dick Yates-Smith set up the seminal bar-nightclub, known as Dicks Tea-Bar.
