Chalet Loup Blanc

Offers available

The Chalet Loup Blanc has been designed to a high specification in a classic alpine style, with attractive facades of exposed stone and warm woods, coupled with fresh open-plan interiors furnished with contemporary flair. The chalet is located close to the popular Venosc Square with its many shops, bars and restaurants. Guests will appreciate the chalets’ close proximity to the skiing and easy access to the resort centre. Just 500m walk across the square to the new Diable 6 seater chairlift (which last year replaced the gondola, fondly known as the ‘Red Eggs’).

The well-appointed lounge and dining area of the chalet include a feature fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating, but the real wow factor lies beyond, through the double French windows which lead to the decked terrace area and the outdoor covered plunge pool. You may be tempted to take a dip at any time, thanks to the pool being both heated and covered in an attractive glass canopy. Each of the Loup Blanc's bedrooms is a good size with wooden floors, panelled walls and some exposed beams as well as smart modern shower rooms. Many of them also benefit from a balcony. A sauna on the ground floor of the chalet completes the sense of quality and style. The beautifully designed Chalet Loup Blanc is in the heart of Les 2 Alpes. Only this chalet apartment, along with its neighbour Chalet Renard Bleu, can boast of such fantastic accommodation and facilities in such an enviable location.

Les Deux Alpes

With a large buzzy village and some fantastic cruisy glacier skiing, Les Deux Alpes is a great option for intermediates.

Les Deux Alpes – often simply written as Les 2 Alpes – has a ski area that rises up to an impressive 3,600m, as well as a glacier that allows virtually year-round skiing. The runs back down to resort level are quite steep which means inexperienced skiers might prefer to take the lift back home at the end of the day.

Although there is a small ski area to the west of the village, the majority of the skiing and boarding takes place between the resort itself and La Toura to the east. The principal access is via the Jandri Express jumbo gondola. The routine journey time to glacier level (2,600m) is about 45 minutes.

Around here the pistes can get busy with skiers and boarders of varying abilities. Higher up, however, there are some marvellous snowsure green and blue runs, many of them served by an underground funicular as well as surface lifts.

Off-piste fanatics will find plenty of challenges if they take a qualified guide. After all, a mere 20-minute hike separates this resort’s terrain from that of the notoriously difficult slopes of nearby La Grave.

There is a big, lively and relatively young après-ski scene, much of it centred on Alpe de Venosc, at the southern end of the town. For true grown-ups the best place to eat out at night is the Michelin starred restaurant at the Chalet Mounier hotel. Those on more modest budgets can try the Bel’Auberge, Les Bleue or Smokey Joe’s Tex-Mex.
