Myrkdalen is a new and modern ski resort, with the first lift there opening in 2003. Their pistes are quiet and wide, making them brilliantly suited for children and beginners, while the off-piste is great for experienced skiers or for those wanting to develop their off-piste skills. This resort receives some of the highest snowfall in Europe and, as a result, skiing conditions here are very reliable.
Despite Myrkdalen’s focus on catering for beginners and families there’s certainly something for everyone. The ski resort boasts 55km of slopes varying in difficulty. The resort also has great off-piste terrain and the high snowfall means there's plenty of powder to go around, we'd suggest hiring a guide.
On Friday evenings the runs are floodlit and the lifts stay open so you can enjoy some extra hours and a different slope experience.
Similar to skiing, snowboarding in Myrkadalen is best suited to novices and intermediates. The ski school in Myrkadalen offers snowboarding lessons making it the ideal place to improve your skills or pick up the sport for the first time.
With many ski schools and instructors to choose between, there really is something for everybody.

The Myrkdalen Ski School offer a childcare service for children of all ages that aren't skiing. You can book your child in for up to three hours a day between 9:30am and 4pm, giving you the chance to get a good amount of skiing in before or after lunch.
Indoor skydiving, not a traditional ski resort activity, is available near Myrkdalen and anybody above the age of 5 can have a go. This is a great alternative if the weather isn't great. The resort has a good amount of cross-country terrain for those trying something new and the town of Voss is 35 minutes away. Voss has its own ski area as well as a bustling town with shops, a swimming pool and a frozen lake.
