Bardonecchia is a charming traditional Italian ski resort, situated on the border between France and Italy. The ski resort offers fantastic skiing, boasting 100km of pistes in the area, connected by a free bus service. Off the piste, this hidden gem of a ski resort is fantastic. Bardonecchia ski resort contains many superb restaurants, considering its small size, serving delicious traditional Italian fayre. Après ski generally tends to be quieter than at other European ski resorts, with people choosing to socialise in a relaxed environment. This ski resort should not be overlooked; despite its size, Bardonecchia ski resort offers amazing skiing, great food and beautiful scenery.

The terrain park has Olympic-level features because it hosted freestyle snowboard events in the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics. Expect to see many freestylers flock to the Italian ski resort to try their best tricks on the world-class facilities.

The village itself is mostly quiet during the week but is more lively during the weekends. Local Italians enjoy weekend getaways to the ski resort, which makes the bar atmosphere more of a party. There is a great selection of restaurants too.

You can fly to Chambery or Turin to get to Bardonecchia. Chambery is the closest airport with an hour and a half transfer. Turin has a slightly longer transfer time of just under two hours.
