Davos Ski Holidays

Davos Dorf provides easy access to the best runs available with the option to ski straight back into town, whilst Davos Platz provides access to the more challenging Jakobshorn ski area, which is known for its freestyle terrain. Other ski areas accessible from Davos include the family-friendly mountains Madrisa and Rinerhorn, another freeride area in Pischa, Parsenn, which is the largest snowsports resort in the area and Schatzalp which is situated on the sunny side of Davos and is accessible by funicular railway.

With lots of parks and off-piste scattered around the ski resort, there is plenty for snowboarders to enjoy. Large cruising runs are a frequent feature and many will enjoy the challenges of the Jakobshorn area. Here the Jatz Park has jumps, rails and features suitable for all levels; advanced riders will appreciate more challenging features such as the 120m half-pipe. Beginners are not forgotten about either, with the Parsenn slopes offering plenty of wide, flat open runs for practising technique.

The Snowli Swiss Snow Kids Village is an excellent facility which acts as a playground and nursery slope for children from the age of 4 upwards. Lots of coloured aids and child-friendly lifts make this the ideal environment for children to take their first steps on the snow. A progressive plan of lessons will move them up from the basics to learning how to get on a chairlift to parallel turns and even a miniature slalom course.

For a refreshing beer in the afternoon sun, head to the rustic Schwendi huts including the Schifer Schwendi and Klosters Schwendi. In Davos itself, there are plenty of après ski bars with a great ambience. The small, rustic Chami bar is one of the liveliest places in the town and is popular amongst locals. The best bars for smart drinks and cocktails are the Davoserhof Lounge and the Morosani Posthotel. The Pöstli Club is the nightclub in town, open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
