Chalet Ulysse

Looking straight up at the Matterhorn, Chalet Ulysse is ideally located in one of Zermatts most sought-after areas, opposite the picturesque Winkelmatten chapel. A selection of intimate restaurants is close at hand, the local store is nearby and the bus connecting with the village centre stops just outside.

It is a short walk down to the Matterhorn Express gondola station and, for much of the season, it is possible to ski back to within 100m or so of the chalet via the Moos yellow run.

Set out over three floors, there are six well appointed bedrooms, four bath and shower rooms and two spacious living rooms, one of which has an inviting fire place. Whilst the ground floor has its own outside entrance, breakfast and dinner is served in the intimate dining area next to the large open-plan kitchen on the first floor.

Three of the bedrooms have their own TVs with DVD as do each of the living rooms which are also equipped with a sound system. Internet connectivity is assured by the chalets wifi network.

On the lower ground floor, there is a heated ski room with boot warmer and a relaxing wellness room with a sauna and shower as well an area where a range of massage and beauty treatments can be booked as an extra.

Tastefully furnished and decorated, Chalet Ulysse has a warm, friendly atmosphere and provides a high standard of accommodation for both adult and family parties.

Uniquely, a professional, fully qualified mountain guide or ski instructor is made available for your party for five days (Monday to Friday) during your holiday, at no extra cost.

Zermatt

Zermatt ski resort is commonly regarded as one of the best ski towns in the world, offering fabulous skiing, stupendous scenery and an extensive variety of high-quality restaurants and hotels. There has been a settlement here since the Middle Ages, with the first tourists flocking to the area in 1838. The town retains its traditional charm to this day with it being car-free, which creates a wonderfully relaxed and peaceful atmosphere and allows visitors to enjoy the clear mountain air. Free electric buses connect all the main lift stations on the valley floor and there are plenty of milk float-style electric taxis for hire. Wander off the main Bahnhofstrasse and you will quickly be walking beside ancient wooden “mazot” huts filled with farm animals and hay.

The magnificent Matterhorn is sufficient reason in itself to visit Zermatt. This distinctive pyramidal peak has become Switzerland's trademark around the globe. Wherever you are on the slopes or in the village, you cannot resist regular glances to see how its appearance is changing according to the light and the cloud conditions. At an altitude of 3,883m, the Matterhorn Ski Paradise is Switzerland's highest ski area; guaranteeing fabulous conditions all season long which truly live up to the magic of the town.
