The relaxed ski resort of Adelboden lies in the middle of the Bernese Alps. This vast skiing area tempts all calibre of skiers from families to top athletes. Four separate ski areas lie within close reach, with Adelboden-Frutigen-Lenk being the biggest linked area, housing 204 kilometres of pisted runs which are connected by 72 high-performance lifts. The slopes in Adelboden ski resort have received the international ski area test quality seal, whilst the off-piste offers plenty to please powder seekers.
The terrain in Adelboden ski resort varies between the world-cup giant slalom run on the Chuenisbärgli, to a multitude of cross-country ski trails and even a freeride arena. However, this is not to say the ski resort should not tempt families or beginner skiers, as the skiing area is home to a good network of blue runs and nursery slopes which are sure to be uncrowded due to their separation from the main ski area via a gondola ride. All skiers will enjoy fantastic panoramic views of this charming alpine town from the slopes and excellent skiing.
Adelboden ski resort is well suited to intermediate riders due to its diverse terrain, snow park and variety of pistes. Expert snowboarders will enjoy tackling the ski area’s more challenging black runs in the Geils area, as well as the good offering of off-piste terrain, aided by the ski resort’s consistent good snowfall records. Beginner snowboarders should be aware of the ski resort's areas of long, flat piste; notably the long run back down into the town, which may prove more challenging for those less experienced.

A special children’s ski club is available in Adelboden for those aged three to five, offering a range of activities such as races and parties, that will ensure no one misses out on a fun filled week in the snow. Adelboden ski resort offers a good range of nursery slopes with magic carpet lift facilities, which are designed to ensure children can get the most out of their time on the slopes.
Adelboden ski resort offers a huge variety of Alpine huts dotted around the main ski area, providing a welcome respite for the keen skier. Enjoy an authentic Swiss mountain experience from one of the many farm buildings on the mountain, which double up as a restaurant during the winter months, providing great cuisine and fair pricing. Whilst remaining a relatively quiet and traditional Swiss mountain village, Adelboden ski resort does not fail to offer a nice selection of après ski in the bars of the main hotels. Scott’s Bar at the Cambrian Hotel is the ideal stop off point for 4pm beers, whilst also offering screenings of major sporting events, as well as DJs until 1am. Adelboden ski resort offers a fantastic variety of activities for non-skiers. There are 40km of winter hiking trails for those who want a day off the slopes or to take in the magnificent views at a slower pace. An additional 24km of toboggan runs as well as leisure facilities such as ski festivals, ice skating, dog sledding, sleigh rides, ice climbing, snowshoe touring and paragliding will be sure to keep the whole group entertained both on and off the slopes.
