With 100km of slopes ranging from simple and gentle runs to numerous tree chutes, as well as 21 lifts to whisk you onto the mountain, it is no wonder that the Bardonecchia ski resort is rated in Italy's top ten ski resorts. The resort is equipped with 38km of snow cannons and the highest point of is 2,400 metres, where guests can enjoy skiing above the tree line.

Skiing in Bardonecchia

Bardonecchia ski resort has some great beginner and intermediate skiing, offering many uncrowded blue and red runs. The ski resort does only contain five black runs, however, the fantastic snow park which contains the 2006 Winter Olympic halfpipe, 80 rails and jibs and more than 20 jumps, is a great place for talented skiers to test and refine their ability.

After hosting the snowboard competitions at the Turin Winter Olympics, Bardonecchia ski resort has become famous for boarders and has a lot to offer, especially those who love carving. Gentle slopes mean boarders can hit these runs with skill and speed. The snowpark offers freestylers a selection of Olympic-style features and jumps to hone their skills on. Beginners are also catered for with spacious nursery slopes.

Restaurants in Bardonecchia

Bardonecchia ski resort offers a range of brilliant restaurants serving delicious Italian food. Most are found in the centre, though some mountain restaurants located up on the slopes offer snowcat transfers to and from their restaurants. This means guests can enjoy good food with a beautiful night view of the village. In the town, Stella Alpina is known by locals for its delicious and authentic Italian cuisine. 

Après Ski in Bardonecchia

Normally quiet during the week, the weekend brings a lively après and nightlife scene in Bardonecchia. The British-owned Colomion di Cipo at the base of the Campo Smith area proves popular for a well-deserved drink after a day skiing on the slopes. 


Non-skiers will be occupied with a range of activities on offer in Bardonecchia ski resort. The Campo Smith, Melezet and Jafferau lifts are available for pedestrians, meaning you can meet the skiers in your group for lunch on the slopes. There is also a local pool for visitors to use as well as an outdoor ice rink at the local sports centre. In addition, transport facilities are also on offer for a day trip to the nearby city of Turin.
