"The resort we stayed in (Meribel) was perfect for our group and ability level, and we are already considering going back to the same hotel (Tarentaise) next year. Couldn't fault a thing."
Les Trois Vallées is one of the largest ski areas in the world; its three largest ski resorts being Val Thorens, Courchevel and Méribel. The Trois Vallées consists of 600km of skiable area with a good mix of runs for every level of skier. The area's maximum skiable height is over 3,200m in Val Thorens, meaning that you can always be certain of good snow cover all season long. There is also 120km of cross-country ski routes.
The local skiing in Méribel ski resort is varied with some long cruisy blues, as well as some more challenging slopes such as the Mont Vallon runs and good off-piste when there is enough snow. Méribel has very modern lifts, so you will be up and down the mountain in quick succession, with plenty on offer for all levels of skier. Head up towards Val Thorens to discover more challenging pistes and freeride sections.
Snowboarders will have access to two fantastic terrain parks which have an abundance of rails, boxes and kickers along with four half-pipes (at certain points of the season). The freeride terrain is good around Mont Vallon and Saulire but you may want to head up higher to Val Thorens to find the best powder. Beginners have lots of opportunities to get their board legs on in the Altiport and lower Mont Vallon areas, both of which have good nursery slopes.
With many ski schools and instructors to choose between, there really is something for everybody.
We’ve partnered with SkiBro, New Generation and Oxygène and highly recommend their services. All of our partners offer fantastic lessons for all skiing ability levels.

The ESF provides a childcare service for children from 18 months up to 5 years old, with skiing instruction from 3 years old. If you’re looking for additional services such as evening babysitting, there are a few professional private nanny services around the resort.
Chez Kiki - warm, rustic ambience. Specialises in steaks, lamb and duck cooked over an open fire
Blanchot - one of the finest restaurants in the Méribel valley. Delicious gourmet food which makes for a lovely treat on a snowy night when there’s a log fire roaring on the grate
Les Allodis - another of Méribel’s
finest and is highly recommended
for a delicious lunch. Definitely leave room for dessert
Le Rond Point - a locals favorite, nightly live music with a fantastic restaurant. Expect singing, dancing and crowd surfing in ski boots in this fun-filled hangout
Jack's Bar - famous for friendly staff and great atmosphere with live music, jugs of beer cocktails tasty pizza and more
O'Sullivans - keep the party going until the early hours along side some headline UK and international DJs
Non-skiers have some great alternative winter sports activities to choose between, including ice climbing, skidooing, snow hiking and more leisurely activities such as bowling and swimming and a spa if you’re looking for some relaxation.
