Ski Areas in Les Gets

The main local slopes of Les Gets ski resort are shared with neighbouring Morzine, offering the most extensive local network in the Portes du Soleil with a gigantic 600km of ski slopes. There is a large variety of runs, meaning that all levels of skier will have plenty to do. Additionally, the runs in Les Gets tend to be quieter than other ski resorts in the Portes du Soleil, especially those in Mont Chery on the opposite side of Les Gets.

Skiing in Les Gets

Beginners are well looked after in Les Gets ski resort, with the top of the Chavannes gondola being a great place to master the basics. Intermediates and advanced skiers alike will also have a good amount of pistes to enjoy; with a great selection of reds and blues around the ‘bowl’ area of the mountain. Head over to Avoriaz to tackle some of the harder slopes and thrilling off-piste descents.

Snowboarding in Les Gets

Les Gets ski resort is great for snowboarders, with plenty of magic carpets and easy blues to start off with. Intermediates are blessed with wide, cruisey blues that are generally low-traffic. There is a well-maintained snow park in Les Gets ski resort with plenty of rails, kickers and jumps; whilst more advanced freestylers may want to head over to park-paradise Avoriaz for more challenging territory.

There is an extensive selection of restaurants in Les Get ski resort. The Ferme de Montagne serves some of the best food in the resort in a unique setting and Le Vieux Chene specialises in Savoyard cuisine. For those looking for something different, the fan favourite O Kariboo serves superb American creole dishes and tasty burgers.

Whilst Les Gets ski resort is known for being best suited to families, there is still a good number of bars to keep groups entertained. Le Pub Irlandais, Bar Bush and the Black Bear all have live music, flowing drinks and lively atmospheres for you to enjoy. For the night owls, there is L’Igloo, the local club which is for those who wish to party on through the night and get home just before the lifts open.

Non-Skiers

In the centre of town there's an ice skating rink, cinema, music museum and a bowling alley. There is also a very good selection of shops with local crafts and unique gifts. Sleigh rides and snowshoeing are a great way to explore the area and there's parapenting available for the more adventurous. In addition to this, the neighbouring areas of Morzine, Avoriaz, Geneva, Lausanne and Montreux are just a short journey away; making for an ideal day excursion.
