Les Gets is small and family-friendly with attractive chalet-style buildings, a welcoming atmosphere and excellent skiing. With Mont Blanc viewable from its slopes, the spectacular scenery in Les Gets ski resort complements the charming atmosphere of the town.
Plenty of restaurants, bars and shops in the town centre mean that there are lots to do off the slopes too. Les Get part of the Portes du Soleil - one of the largest ski areas in the world. With easy access to Morzine and Avoriaz, there is the opportunity to go out and experience the neighbouring ski resorts.
The Portes du Soleil ski area has 600km of pistes and some of the best skiing around - there's something for all levels of abilities. Les Gets has 120km of slopes and will keep any skier or snowboarder occupied. Most of the pistes are reds or blues. There’s also a dedicated beginner area at the top of the Chavannes gondola. Ideal for families or mixed ability groups.
The village is mostly made up of traditional French chalets. The Chavannes gondola and express chair are the local lifts that easily get you up the ski area. They are convenient as they are very accessible from the main town.
Off the mountain, there’s plenty to do with an ice skating rink, cinema, music museum and a bowling alley. The nightlife can get lively at times with happy hours and live music at certain bars. There’s also places to have a quiet drink if you prefer.
You can fly to Les Gets by landing at Geneva or Chambery. Geneva is about 1hour 10 minutes by car. Ideal if you want quick access to the slopes.
