Known as one of those most beautiful places in North America, the expansive Lake Louise ski resort offers over 100km of skiing terrain with a wide selection of runs available. There are 10 lifts across the resort transporting you up to either side of the mountain with runs accessible for all types of ski and snowboard abilities. At Lake Louise nearly every chair has at least one intermediate or beginner run attached to it, allowing skiers of all levels to experience the jaw-dropping views higher up the mountain.

Skiing in Lake Louise

Skiers can enjoy 145 named runs as well as limitless off-piste adventures at Lake Louise ski resort. The terrain is accessible for all abilities of skiers with an easy run down from every chairlift in resort. For the experts, there are exhilarating steep slopes as well as the 'Men's Downhill' run, perfect for racing. Take the Top of the World Express chair to enjoy the scenery across the Bow Valley and absorb the sight of the mountain peaks Allen, Fay, Bowlen and Babel stretching out into the distance. A view so famous it once featured on Canada’s $20 note.

Snowboarders can enjoy plenty of tree riding and excellent off-piste boarding at Lake Louise ski resort. The Showtime Terrain Park features over 50 different types of jumps, rails and boxes ranging from easy to hard levels - ideal for the freestylers. Beginner boarders will also enjoy Lake Louise with easy runs at the base of the mountain.

The Lake Louise Snow School offer private and group lessons to all abilities where you can choose which skils you want to improve and the type of terrain you want to ski.

There are a variety of children's ski programs available for children aged from 3 - 12. Full day lessons run from 10.30am to 3.30pm and half-day lessons run from 10.30am to 12.30pm or 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Lake Louise also offer daycare services for children from as young as 18 days to 6 years.

Restaurants in Lake Louise

There are a number of restaurants at the base of the ski resort. The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise has a number of options including an Italian, as well as a Swiss-themed restaurant. More casual restaurants include Outpost Pub or Lake Louise Village Grill and Bar, both ideal for families.

Après Ski in Lake Louise

Gently nestled on the lakefront, the elegant Fairmont Château Lake Louise is the obvious choice for luxury après ski entertainment. There’s no better way to toast a long day’s skiing than while soaking up the view’s of Lake Louise from the Fairmont’s Lakeview Lounge. Powder Keg Lounge in the Lodge of the Ten Peaks and Kokanee Kabin is known for its après and live music.

Non-Skiers

There’s plenty for non-skiers to experience in this magical winter wonderland. Don’t miss ice skating on Lake Louise, one of the world’s best skating rinks. Race through the Rocky Mountains on a dog-sledding adventure or take a horse-drawn sleigh ride along the lake, soaking up the spectacular views. For a unique experience, join the Johnston Canyon Ice Walk and admire frozen waterfalls up close.
