Sitting in the frame of beautiful mountains, Mayrhofen is one of the most well-loved ski resorts in Europe. Close to the main lifts are some beginner slopes with T-bars, as well as some red and some tree runs. With extensive pistes, there is plenty for every ability, making it a great option for groups of mixed ability skiers.
204km of slopes await skiers and snowboarders in the resort of Mayrhofen. Snow quality is extremely important here, where 147 snow cannons guarantee 100% snow coverage on the slopes. From easy to medium to difficult - the choice of pistes is vast. The steepest piste is, without doubt, the black Harakiri - Austria's steepest groomed slope - with a gradient of up to 78%.
In addition to the extraordinary opportunities for freeriding on powder days both below and above the tree line, Mayrhofen has created the Vans Penken Park for snowboarders and freeskiers that completely outclasses all other fun parks in Tirol with the quality and diversity of its jumps.
A team of professional Funpark shapers guarantee constant optimum conditions with daily grooming.
With many ski schools and instructors to choose between, there really is something for everybody.
We’ve partnered with SkiBro, New Generation and Oxygène and highly recommend their services. All of our partners offer fantastic lessons for all ability levels.

There are plenty of restaurants in Mayrhofen, both on and off the mountain. Wirtshaus Zum Griena, rumoured to be Mayrhofen's oldest restaurant, serves traditional Austrian food and dirndl-clad waitresses bring steins of beer. Hotel Kramerwirt has an excellent restaurant within, where traditional dishes are mixed with international and produce is sourced from their own farm. For a more upmarket meal head to Hotel Elisabeth, where their Mamma Mia restaurant serves up delicious Italian specialities.
It all starts in the Pilzbar's umbrella bar, with Europop blaring, and moves down to the Ice Bar at the Hotel Strass. Scotland Yard, ironically Mayrhofen's old police station, is generally full of seasonnaires, whereas Bruck'n stadl is where you should head for nightclub-style après-ski - music and dancing continue until 2am here. Another popular nightspot is The Arena Club in the Hotel Strass, which plays every type of music under the sun. A quieter, more sophisticated drink can be enjoyed in the Harakiri Bar.
As all Mayrhofen lovers know, there are lots of hidden idyllic and quiet corners to be found for truly relaxing holidays. Whether snow shoe trekking in the vast winter landscapes, sleigh rides or a spot of retail therapy in the popular shoping mile: Mayrhofen offers a myriad of opportunities well away from the slopes too.
