Consumer research conducted by The Ski Club of Great Britain*, shows the demand for ski short breaks is set to soar this season and independent tailor-made operator Ski Solutions selects its top four winter short breaks, advising holidaymakers to book soon to avoid disappointment.
Consistently good snowfall over the past two seasons and increasing confidence in the economy are the main factors driving the increase in demand for short breaks, according to the research. It also reveals that up to 75% of lapsed skiers are set to return to the slopes and 42% of skiers are taking multiple ski breaks.
Ski Solutions Managing Director, Craig Burton said: “We’ve experienced a 23% increase in advanced bookings throughout the summer and into early autumn, with demand for short breaks up significantly year on year. As peak season dates are already proving popular, we urge holidaymakers to book early.”
Medieval magic in Courmayeur, Italy – four nights B&B from £495pp

Although best suited to intermediate or advanced skiers, there is something for everyone at this beautiful resort named ‘Mountain of Angels’. Easily accessible by rail and road, and just a 40-minute drive from Zurich Airport, it is the ideal choice for a short break. Benedictine monks founded the village centuries ago but as a ski resort it remains something of a hidden gem, known to discerning skiers. Set amongst majestic mountain landscape, the Hotel Terrace is an Art Nouveau property dating back to 1903. All guest bedrooms are en-suite and the hotel features a number of fine restaurants and bars. A new free tunnel-lift system runs from the hotel, transporting guests to the village in three minutes.
