1,000 ACRES OF NEW SKI TERRAIN ON GREY MOUNTAIN - AN ENTIRELY NEW PEAK

As the 2013/14 ski season gets underway and people begin planning their ski holidays, specialist wintersports operator, Ski Solutions, touts Red Mountain Resort in British Columbia as one of the hottest new ski destination for the forthcoming season.

Located in the powder-packed Kootenay Rockies, famously known as the powder highway, the long-established resort has recently completed a multi-million dollar expansion on to new peak Grey Mountain, adding over 1000 acres of intermediate terrain and 360° skiing.  The laid-back Canadian resort now comprises three peaks – Red Mountain, Granite Mountain and Grey Mountain – which together offer 4,200 acres of pristine skiing, with terrain suitable for all abilities.

The expansion marked one of the single largest expansions of a resort in Canada and the USA and has placed Red Mountain amongst the Top 20 North American resorts in terms of terrain scale.

Despite the expansion, Red Mountain has managed to retain its original charm and just this week, the resort scooped two awards at the prestigious World Snow Awards in London, including Best Upcoming Resort.

Craig Burton, Managing Director of Ski Solutions said: ‘We’ve noticed an increase in enquiries for Red Mountain Resort this Autumn.  It’s really not been on the radar of British skiers until now, but the rapid expansion has put it on par with other world-class resorts in the US and opens up this unspoilt gem to a whole new International market.’

He continued: ‘It’s set to be a top performer for us and is certainly the hot ticket this season for more adventurous skiers looking to head across the pond’.

Red Mountain Package: Ski Solutions offers seven nights self-catering, departing 25th January 2014, from £1,495 per person.  The price includes a one-night stopover en-route in Vancouver staying at the Four Seasons Vancouver, followed by six nights in Red Mountain Resort Lodging, staying in a modern one-bedroom suite with kitchen and fireplace.
