The most modern resort in the whole of the Trois Vallees area, built in a pleasing chalet style.

The most recently built resort in the vast Trois Vallees ski area, La Tania was initially developed in time for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics to house the Press , but has expanded steadily since then. In the past few years there has been a veritable boom in the construction of high-specification new chalets for British tour operators. Located at a respectable altitude of 1,400 metres on the road that runs between Courchevel 1300 (Le Praz) and Meribel, it is built principally in chalet style, although there are quite a few small apartment blocks containing self-catering accommodation. La Tania is the ideal place for those who are determined to ski the Trois Vallees, but are restricted to a tight budget.

In the early days nightlife and restaurant scene was very limited, but as the resort has expanded it has become considerably more lively. The Ski Lodge is the original rios-ski focal point and often has live bands, while the Telemark, situated in the chalet-style hotel of the same name, now also offers live music and an agreeable atmosphere. The Taiga is a good cocktail bar and it too has live music. The Montana has a comfortable bar. The Ferme de la Tania offers typical Savoyard fare, The Ski Lodge is renowned for its burgers and the Taiga for its pizzas.
