I’ve just returned from an incredible couple of days exploring Val Thorens and skiing in the Les Trois Vallées. I stayed at the Club Med Sensations, let me tell you more…
I stayed at Club Med Sensations in Val Thorens, it’s one of the first properties you see as you arrive in Val Thorens. Seeing Club Med straight away sets guests up for an exciting and welcoming stay, and the hotel has a prime ski-in ski-out location.
My room was spacious and clean with great views over the pistes and the mountains. There are activities for children and teenagers, making it a great option for families. Activities like rock climbing, a morning power walking, spa treatments, fitness classes, ski tuition, guiding and evening entertainment are all available. The hotel bar was quite lively in the evenings, so the downstairs restaurant’s lounge was more suitable for a quiet drink.
As we were staying at Club Med, we had meals at the hotel. It’s all inclusive so you can’t go hungry at Club Med. There’s always snacks available and plenty of freshly prepared food at mealtimes catering for all dietary requirements.
There are two restaurants to choose from, one was an enormous buffet, the other was Epicurious Gourmet Lounge restaurant. Guests need to book the Gourmet Lounge in advance, I found it a quieter and more personal experience. There were a couple of choices for starters, mains and dessert as well as a wine list.
I felt very welcomed and the Club Med staff were eager to get guests to join in with the festivities. The skiing in Val Thorens was fantastic with great snow and plenty of runs. As its high up and most properties are ski-in ski-out, Val Thorens is a suitable resort for the beginning and end of season and those looking for convenience.
Club Med is an experience in itself. From the warm welcome, always feeling like you were well looked after and plenty of activities, you’d certainly never get bored on a Club Med holiday. My highlights were the endless food options, selection of drinks and the Gatsby show!
I never had to worry or think about anything as it was always taken care of. It took the worry out of the holiday. I would recommend a Clud Med holiday, not only for first time skiers, but also for people who want a stress-free holiday where everything is organised.
