Chalet Hotel L'Aiguille Percee

The Chalet Hotel Aiguille Percee has seen a fantastic transformation. Situated in the heart of the village of Tignes Le Lac, literally just across the road from the ski lifts, the cosy chalet hotel has undergone an extensive refurbishment with the addition of 13 new rooms including interconnecting and family suites, as well as the upgrade of the original rooms all of which now have a modern Alpine feel. The majority have brand new bathrooms and TVs with 20 British channels.

Adjacent to the ground floor boot room, you find the reception and child care, perfect for families needing any assistance during their holiday. The first floor restaurant has also seen a revamp and is now almost double the size of the original, alongside a spacious bar and cosy seating area in which you can relax after a day on the slopes and enjoy glorious views of the surrounding mountains. Should you want to soothe any aches and pains, the chalet hotel's indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room are the perfect spot to unwind.

Just a step outside the Chalet Hotel Aiguille Percée, and you will be greeted by gorgeous views of the Lac de Tignes and the Grand Motte glacier. It’s only a 100 metre walk to the main gondola which will whisk you up to the vast Espace Killy ski area, or just around the corner, you’ll find yourself in the main square where the ski schools meet up. It couldn’t be better!

Tignes

Ski holidays in Tignes offer lively atmosphere with world class snow-sure skiing on the doorstep.

Tignes was created before the French discovered the benefits of making purpose-built resorts look attractive, although it has to be said that  some attractive new buildings are being added. The renovated old village at the lowest point of the slopes is a favourite lunch spot and a friendly and nice place to stay.

Tignes lies at an altitude of 2,100m and the main settlement is at Tignes Le Lac, which also has a satellite suburb called Le Lavachet, but there is another satellite development along the road at Val Claret, at the foot of the lifts up to the Grande Motte. Getting between the various parts of Tignes is easy enough on skis during the day and Le Lac and Le Lavachet are within reasonable walking distance of each other. A shuttle bus service links Val Claret with the rest of Tignes. It runs frequently during the day, half-hourly after 8.30pm and hourly after midnight throughout the night.
