Chalet Foxtrot (Val d'Isere)

Offers available

Chalet Foxtrot is located just opposite Chalet Hélène in the Chatelard area of Val d’Isère - a superb location for skiing down to the resort centre and the main lifts every morning. Chalet Foxtrot’s interior blends warm pine panelling and beamed ceilings with contemporary fixtures and furnishings and modern touches such as the flatscreen TV and free Wifi. The view from the generous terrace off the lounge is a particular feature, providing fabulous mountain vistas. The bedrooms are well planned, and the bathrooms are modern and particularly well-fitted. Ski access could hardly be easier; just 100m walk before you ski out on the blue Santons run straight down into the resort centre for your choice of lifts each day; and return on this run too via the Epaule du Charvet black run or the red Piste ‘M’. Alternatively the free ski bus stops within 100m for access to the resort centre, which is 10-12 minutes’ walk.

Val d'Isère

Val d'Isère is probably the resort that has access to the best all-round ski area in the world, the Espace Killy With just over 100 lifts compared to the 300 to be found in the Trois Vallées, the Espace Killy is obviously not the largest ski area in the world, but size isn’t everything and this region has as much skiing as one could ever need, not to mention the longest winter in the Alps. (The winter ski season here begins in late November and continues until early May and the early- and late-season conditions are seldom disappointing.

The main centre of Val d'Isere has been virtually rebuilt over the past 25 years and many of the buildings are imaginative contemporary interpretations of the traditional stone and wood Savoyard style.

Val d'Isere ski holidays were revolutionised with the introduction of apres-ski in the 80s when Dick Yates-Smith set up the seminal bar-nightclub, known as Dicks Tea-Bar.
