Chalet Aries

Just a short 200 metres from the slopes, Chalet Aries is located within the Altitude Val 2400 residence within the bustling resort of Val Thorens. For those wanting to make the most of the village, the centre of Val Thorens is a short 10-minute walk from the residence itself. For early-risers and keen skiers, guests can either walk the 5 minutes across to the piste or simply hop on the ski bus which stops right outside the apartment building.

Chalet Aries is a perfect option for those after a cosy, home-away-from-home experience in the mountains. It is small but perfectly formed, consisting of an open-plan living room and dining room, which opens out onto a large balcony – the perfect spot from which to take in the alpine air whilst sipping on a hot chocolate or pre-dinner aperitif. Guests also have the luxury of swimming pool and sauna access at the neighbouring Altitude Complex – all free of charge.

Chalet Aries is located on the 1st floor of the Altitude Val 2400 Residence.

Val Thorens

Val Thorens takes the prize as the highest ski resort in Europe and as a result it often has the best snow of the Trois Vallees. The resort is at 2,300m and is one of the few stations that can almost definitely guarantee snow for both Christmas and Easter.

Architecturally the resort is better than many and there is a pleasant traffic free centre. The surrounding peaks make for a stunning skyline but in a blizzard the resort can be a little bleak, partly because it’s above the treeline. Many people prefer to stay in a lower resort and then ski the Val Thorens pistes although the resort itself has many attractions - not least you are able to bag the beautiful snow first in the mornings and the village has a lively nightlife. The skiing is suited to most standards with the more advanced really being able to push themselves over testing, exciting terrain and yet there are also the sweeping, gentle pistes which make Val Thorens ski holidays ideal for beginners and intermediates. For those who prefer to take their skiing at a slower pace, there is an abundance of mountain restaurants from where to enjoy the views.
