NOT AS MANY GOOD ONES AS MIGHT BE EXPECTED IN SUCH A STYLISH RESORT

For such a stylish resort, Courmayeur is suprisingly short of high quality hotels but a recent addition, the four-star Villa Novecento, helped to improve the choice. The Gallia Gran Baita is a very comfortable property with an impressive spa featuring an indoor/outdoor swimming pool. Although situated on the edge of the resort, this hotel has an efficient tried and tested minibus service running to and from the lifts and town centre. The four-star Hotel Pavillon is centrally located just opposite the main access cable car and has a good indoor swimming pool. The Royal & Golf is a grand old-style Italian four-star in the centre of the resort with large public rooms and some very pleasant bedrooms.

The newish three-star Walser is nicely decorated and well insulated from the sound of the main road. Auberge de la Maison is a very agreeable and comfortable new boutique hotel up at Entreves run by the owners of the famous Maison di Filippo restaurant. The Bouton d’Or is a small, friendly B & B hotel on the main square. The popular Centrale, just off the via Roma, is our favourite for weekends. In Entreves, the Pilier d'Angle is a popular choice for those looking for a good value yet charming three star hotel, also available for weekends.
