TWO GOOD SWISS FAMILY-RUN PROPERTIES

The most appealing hotel in Murren is the four-star Eiger, located just across the road from the station. Run by the Stahli/Von Allmen family, it has long been a favourite of British visitors and is the unofficial headquarters of the Anglo-Swiss Kandahar Ski Club. It has a small but pleasant indoor swimming pool and some very comfortable modern suites that were built in the mid-1990s.

The three-star Jungfrau is another family-run property with a pleasant position at the edge of the slopes in the middle of the village. The Hotel Alpenruh is in a great location right next to the Schilthorn cable car.

The Eiger Guest House, just next door to the Eiger hotel is run by Scotsman and long-time Murren resident Alan Ramsay and his Swiss wife and provides good budget accommodation in very friendly surroundings.
