AN ENORMOUS CHOICE FROM LUXURY FOUR STARS TO SIMPLE TWO STARS

With over 60 hotels spread throughout the valley, Chamonix has a vast range to choose from. The luxury of Le Hameau Albert Ier (now with a new annexe and lavish spa facilities) and the cosy Jeu de Paume make them ideal choices for a weekend retreat. The tiny Relais & Chateaux Auberge du Bois Prin with just 11 rooms is also popular. The newly renovated Grand Hotel des Alpes enjoys a great central location right in the centre of town.

The three-star hotels are maybe simpler than those to be found in the more fashionable French resorts but their prices reflect this and they therefore offer outstanding value-for-money for a weekend break. With such a large number of hotels in the vicinity, the proprietors tend to be more flexible on accepting weekend visitors compared to many other resorts which has made Chamonix the weekend ski capital of the Alps. La Morgane has been recently renovated and reopened in December 2007. It is a good choice if you are looking for a hotel with pool. For those on a budget, the Gourmets & Italy is a friendly choice. In Argentiere , we highly recommend the Grands Montets - a delightful hotel with a real chalet-style ambience right next to the Grands Montets cable car.

The three-star Park Hotel Suisse has a great central location just beside the Tourist Office and bus station. The Pointe Isabelle is useful little two-star hotel that makes a good base for those trying to do weekends on a budget. Please note that Chamonix is one of the few resorts to which we can organise weekend trips, but even here accommodation seems to fill up earlier and earlier each year, so the sooner you contact us, the greater your chances of being successful.
