Renamed in 2003 (formerly the Aspen Club Lodge) and relaunched as a designer boutique-hotel, the Sky Hotel has changed quite considerably in style with its revamped décor and more modern theme. There is still a roaring log fire in the lounge, but it is now combined with a more hip, retro feel with white leather chairs, cow hide rugs and faux fur throws. The pleasing result is are more contemporary than mountain – all in all, quite a change – but it is still one of the top hotels in Aspen for people looking for a more cosmopolitan atmosphere. The apres ski at the 39 Degrees bar and by the and great sun-deck with outdoor fireplace and pool is one of the places to be "seen".
