Owned and managed by a second-generation Zermatt family, Alex Perren Jnr and his team presides over this most venerable of Zermatt institutions. Our guests particularly enjoy the individual (and at times eclectic) bedrooms, the friendly bar, indoor swimming pool and excellent restaurant.
The four star Hotel Alex, Zermatt is one of our most popular ski hotels in Switzerland, and regularly receives excellent reviews from Ski Solutions clients. Whilst the decor is a rather eclectic mix of alpine and art nouveau, the atmosphere is informal and relaxed. Two generations of the Perren family are still involved and have created a ski hotel where guests return year after year. At the Hotel Alex, the food has an excellent reputation and the half-board menu is one of the best we know of in Switzerland. The newly, refurbished bar and lounge have been cleverly designed to create several cosy, comfortable areas with squashy sofas in which to relax - and enjoy a cigar or late-night whisky.
