Having had a very long journey to get to Val d'Isere (due to snow), I was very impressed by the hotel staff who greeted us at 1.00am with a delicious cold dinner laid out in the dining room with a bottle of wine! The Christiania is a great hotel for couples/friends and certainly I would consider taking our children there as the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly - also they have a great pool if the weather is not good.

Run for many years by the Bertoli family, the Christiania is one of the most popular hotels in Val d’Isere — and rather more formal than its rival, the Blizzard. The hotel has a very airy, open feel to it as the main reception area links to the bar and lounge - recently redecorated - which in turn leads to the dining area — opening on to a large and recently extended sunny terrace where lunch is served in the Spring. There is also an excellent spa and pool available to all guests.
