In 1875, Lady Isabella Stratton and her guide, Jean Charlet, conquered a new peak which was christened “Pointe Isabella”. She married her guide and it is now their great grandchildren that are proprietors of the hotel named after her. Whilst it is a simple two-star, it is a great place for a good-value stay in Chamonix.
